Exercise Begins At Home
Your health is the most valuable and important asset you have.When you are fit and healthy,your life becomes more enjoyable,and your future more secure.Becoming fit begins with the right attitude towards exercise and making it an integral part of your daily routine is crucial to success.If your schedule does not allow you to go to a gym,you can always workout from the comfort of your home.
A home based exercise programme can be as effective as joining a gym as long as you follow a balanced and thought out fitness routine,which should include cardiovascular training,core training,and flexibility training.One of the most basic exercises that you can perform anywhere are squats.Squat is a simple yet powerful exercise that will not only improve strength and tone the thighs,buttocks and hamstring but will also improve your overall balance and posture.
Stand upright with your back straight and keep your feet shoulder width apart.Slowly bend you knees and lower yourself towards the ground.Make sure you look straight and not look down while doing this exercise.Slowly come to the squat position,as if you were about to sit on a chair,pause for a second and then slowly come to the upright position again without locking your knees.While doing this exercise,ensure that you always breathe in when you squat and breathe out when you are coming back to upright position.
Start with 3-6 repetitions if you are new to the exercise,do not do too many repetitions straight away.As your leg muscles become stronger you can increase the number of repetitions and squat lower to the ground.
It is very important to keep your back straight during this exercise.Don’t swing your arms or change your spine angle much in other to get more leverage when you are tired.As with every other exercise it is how you do it that matters most.Focus on the basics and the squats will tone up your lower body in no time.
