Is Your Cat Misbehaving? 4 Tips To Understanding Your Cat

Despite their status as the most popular pet in America, cats can still be difficult. With their sometimes aloof attitudes and unwillingness to tell us what they want, figuring out your cat can be tough.

When your cat, whether it’s an Abyssinian or a Turkish Van, starts misbehaving, it can cause serious damage. From ripped curtains to urine-stained bed sheets, a cat on the rampage is hard to handle. Unfortunately, many owners give up on cats with behavior problems, but there are steps you can take to help your cat grow through or out of them.

Training Your Dog Through Punishment Should Be A Thing Of The Past

Punishment as a form of training is still widely used by dog owners who know no better when training a dog. What your dog sees as a punishment can take many forms: verbal (shouting or an angry tone), physical (kicking, hitting or other forced actions such as rubbing his nose in the carpet) or even the posture of his master. No dog wants to be punished, nor will he do anything ‘on purpose’ and be aware of the (physical) consequences beforehand.

Presenting The Fly

We can offer a fly to a fish in a number of ways depending on whether we are representing a grasshopper or beetle or a frail spinner falling spent on the water. To splash the fly down hard delay the presentation stroke by dropping the rod tip to point at the water. Shooting line will only pile line leader and fly in a heap so we refrain from shooting in this type of presentation. To land a fly delicately on the water aim and release line at a point one meter above where the fly is to land and shoot line. If you do not shoot sufficient line the fly line will reach the end of the cast, stop, and bounce back.
